Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents, Winona Ryder's parents, named her for the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author as well as editors. Ryder's father is from the Jewish family. Ryder believes she is Jewish. The actress is the younger sister of Uria as well as half-siblings Jubal & Sunyata. Ryder's parents relocated her and her siblings in Mendocino County California when Ryder was seven years old. They was in a house that didn't have electric power. Ryder was a prolific reader because of the lack of television.
